One of our great traditions at Starkey Elementary is our morning exercise program, Starkey Strollers.

This program was started years ago by the student council as a way to promote a healthy

lifestyle in our community. Students walk or run laps on our track to get their blood pumping and earn

prizes and recognition.  ALL STUDENTS are invited to carry on the tradition by walking before school

at the Diane S. Stern Strolling Park (our track).

Beginning Wednesday, August 30th, students will be able to stroll according to their grades:

    • Monday and Wednesday: 3rd,  4th, & 5th grades
    • Tuesday and Thursday: Kinder, 1st, & 2nd grades

    Times: 7:15am-7:30am

    Rules:

    • Students who arrive after 7:25 are NOT allowed
    • to begin strolling that day.
    • Students must eat breakfast BEFORE strolling.
    • They will not be able to go to the cafeteria for
    • breakfast after they walk. No exceptions.
    • They must use their Starkey Stroller cards to
    • record their laps.
